MIL-PRF-81705 covers electrostatic discharge protective, flexible barrier materials used to package microcircuits, sensitive semiconductors, resistors, and similar components. The current active revision is MIL-PRF-81705F, superseding MIL-PRF-81705E.

The specification breaks into two material types. Type 1 materials add electromagnetic interference protection on top of standard ESD shielding, making them the more robust option for applications where EMI poses a genuine risk.
